Approved CAD Tools
- Circuit simulation (HSPICE:
Available in IT Labs, Look at HSPICE FAQ)
HSPICE is general purpose SPICE variant.
- HSPICE manual in PDF format (available in /soft/hspice98/doc on IT
workstations)
- SPICE 2G6 manual (early version
of Berkeley SPICE)
- Layout (LEDIT,)
- Switched capacitor circuit simulator (SWITCAP)
SWITCAP2 is a general purpose simulation program for linear switched-capacitor
networks
and mixed switched-capacitor/digital networks.
- It is currently available on the IT Workstations (executable is called
sw2)
- This is a text in text out tool, i.e., can be used over a telnet session.
- Switcap manual in PDF format
(710kB)
- Numerical and signal processing simulation tool (Matlab)
- Student version available (worth investing in )
- Simulink
: block diagram based front-end to matlab
Extremely powerful. Worth using.
- Matlab primer available here
